Q: How much are tickets and what does my ticket price cover?
A: We have two ticket types available: The Taste Tester Ticket and the Designated Driver Ticket. Taste Testers are $55 and Designated Drivers are $45. Each ticket price goes up by $10 the day of the event (so TTs will be $65 and DDs will be $55) and can be purchased at the door.
Both tickets include entrance to the event as well as Catering by CHEF360. Taste Tester tickets include one adult or non-alcoholic beverage ticket to use at the Razz Bar and tastings at all the participating distilleries. Designated Driver tickets include one non-alcoholic beverage ticket to use at the Razz Bar. Additional drink tickets, both adult and non-alcoholic, will be available at the “Tickets & Info” tables near the front entrance or can be purchased online when you get your ticket for the event. (DD Ticket holders will not be able to purchase any alcoholic beverages or participate in the tastings)
Q: I don’t like whiskey, will there be other beverage choices?
A: While the event is called “Whiskeys for Whiskers”, local distilleries are making everything from whiskey to rum to vodka to gin (and more) these days. The distilleries have their choice of which spirits they will bring to sample at their booths. We don’t know exactly what type(s) of alcohol will be provided for the bar yet by our participating distilleries but when we do, we’ll post a list of the fabulous concoctions that will be created by Razz. Look for the full bar menu to be released the week of the event. We will also have beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages available.
Q: I am not into playing dress-up, do I have to dress Grease-movie-style?
A: Nope! While we’d love to see everyone dressed up, but we know that not everyone is into that kind of thing. Just make sure there’s a place for your wallet!
Q: Where is Southern Bleachery?
A: Southern Bleachery is an event venue located within Taylors Mill which is off Main Street in Taylors, SC. The address is 250 Mill Street, Taylors, SC 29687. When you turn onto Mill Street it will look like you are going into a residential area, but you will soon see the Mill on your right. It is huge. The Bleachery is about halfway back. There is a small lot in front of the Bleachery and there is also a large parking lot across the street as well as several other lots on down into the Mill. We’ll try our best to have signage but should be easily identifiable by the person running around with her hair on fire. Her name is Coleen and she’s harmless – we promise.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: We are sorry, this is a pet-free event. We are raising funds for our furry friends, but they cannot attend this one due to insurance restrictions.
Q: Do I have to be 21 to attend?
A: All attendees and volunteers, regardless of ticket type, must be 21 years of age or older. This makes our lives and the bartenders’ lives much easier. When you purchase your ticket, you will have to certify that the ticketholders will be 21 or over. We do, however, reserve the right to card at the door and/or at the bar. Tickets are non-refundable.
Q: I am coming from out of town, is there somewhere I can stay?
A: Reserve a room at the Quality Inn in Greer just a few miles from the event. We
have a block of rooms for a discounted rate of $94.50 per night plus tax. Call 864-848-4995 for
reservations. Be sure to mention Whiskeys for Whiskers to get the discount!
Q: I am planning on having a LOT of fun. Can you help me get home?
A: ABSOLUTELY! We want you to have fun but, more importantly, we want you to be safe. That’s why we are offering a designated driver ticket and we've blocked rooms at the nearby Quality Inn for an overnight options. In addition, stay tuned for information about a Lyft coupon. Please drink responsibly!
